A super quick chocolate dessert that tastes rich, delicious and even wholesome, and takes about 15 minutes to put together? There’s absolutely nothing in that sentence that doesn’t sound good. This pudding takes ingredients that you’re almost always likely to have in your home and can be put together in a matter of minutes. Whether it’s for guests you weren’t expecting till just a few hours ago or it’s to feed a desire for dessert that nothing shop-bought will satisfy, this no-bake, no-fuss dessert is perfect.
This recipe is a little bit retro and variations of it have probably been around for years, mothers whipping these up for pot-luck dinners, sunday lunches, summer vacation days where she might let you taste a spoonful of the divine, cool, chocolate cream as she puts the dish together. There is a deep, mellow chocolate flavor running through this dessert, with satiny-smooth cream making every bite a pleasure. Think of coming home, knowing this awaits you in your refrigerator for dessert later. Yum!
Super quick chocolate pudding
1 250 gm Packet Marie Biscuits
1 100ml packet of Fresh Cream (We used Amul)
3 Tbs and 1 tsp Bournvita
1 Tbs Cocoa powder
½ cup Milk
1 tsp Instant coffee, optional
Sugar, to taste
Stir in 1 tsp of BournvitaSuper quick chocolate pudding into the milk in a wide bowl. Keep a dish ready in which you plan to set and serve the pudding.
Whip the fresh cream along with the remaining Bournvita, the cocoa powder, sugar and coffee if using. Whip till the cream thickens a little.
Using a spoon, soak each biscuit in the milk and place the biscuits in one flat layer at the bottom of the dish. Cover this layer by pouring a third of the Chocolate cream over it. Repeat another 2 layers of biscuits and cream.
