Alphonso Mango in a Sabzi

aam ke chilke

Alphonso mangos in the summer make the heat worth suffering through. They are just that delicious. These mangoes inspire so much love and loyalty, you’d think they’re a favorite sports team. Debates about Alphonso Vs. Langda Aam rage on every summer and personally we’re happy to have that internal battle too. It just means more mangos to eat to prove to ourselves which ones are the best.

This intense love for Mangoes made us curious for even more ways to enjoy them besides just eating them in their pure, ripe glory. We stumbled upon this wonderful Marwari recipe that lets you enjoy the sweet delicious fruit on its own and then instead of getting rid of the peel, you turn them into a meal. Who would’ve thought of an Alphonso Mango in a Sabzi but here you have it.

This recipe for Aam ke Chilke ki Sabzi from Surabhi Bhandari is a tart, fresh and delicious dish with the barest hint of Alphonso flavor and sweetness running through it. The smoky cumin, the tart mango powder and the excitement of the new and interesting – you have got to try this dish!
